This is Everyone's Game - Black voices

Upper Key Stage 1/Foundation, KS2
Diversity, Equality, Identity

Diversity on and off the pitch has been a huge part of the Premier League story over the years.

This pack celebrates the contribution that football players of African and Caribbean descent have made to the Premier League and English football, with films and stories featuring Divock Origi, Nottingham Forest FC, and Demi Stokes, Manchester City Women's FC.

Use this pack to support and promote Black History Month. The theme of ‘Saluting our Sisters’ highlights the crucial role that black women have played in shaping history, inspiring change, and building communities.

This pack promotes class discussion around the themes of diversity and inclusion.

Learning outcomes

Pupils will learn:

  • how diversity makes our society stronger
  • why we should celebrate different cultures and heritages
  • why it's important to recognise and celebrate black players' contribution to the game of football.
